New Jersey Shore - Mister C's Beach Bistro

Mister C’s once occupied a much smaller space in Deal, New Jersey. The food and service were among the best at the Jersey Shore: their party room satisfied the needs of small groups, the bar was cozy and you always felt welcome and relaxed as the pre-dinner cocktail was served. Imagine a restaurant overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Create an oceanfront bar protected from the elements without compromising the view. Transfer all of the qualities of the now famous Mister C’s to this new setting and you have a restaurant you can now call "home". A winner of three stars from the Star Ledger as well as the prestigious Asbury Park Readers Choice Award, Mister C's Beach Bistro is everything the name implies and more.

I began my long awaited adventure with Fried Calamari. It was fresh, hot and the marinara sauce with which it was served triggered memories of the beachfront restaurants that dot the shores of Tuscany.

The Sautéed Shrimp with Littleneck Clams was perfection and, as Mister C's will accommodate you with a dinner portion of most appetizers, I’m considering an entrée-sized portion on my next visit.

Our Salads were crisp, well dressed and flavorful. Try the Beet Salad with Gorgonzola Cheese and Pistachios. Your taste buds will jump for joy. The extensive wine list is certain to provide a fine selection at a reasonable price.

Mister C's is known for its steaks and chops. Their Sirloin is 16 oz. of Grilled Certified Black Angus Beef served over spinach and accompanied with a mountain of Mr. C's delicious Potato Slivers.

The Filet Mignon is placed on a bed of mashed potatoes and bathed in a brandy wine sauce.

The pasta special was served to one of our dinner companions. I asked for and received a taste. The bow tie pasta was tossed in a light tomato sauce dotted with extra large shrimp, cannellini beans, sweet red peppers, garlic and, of course, extra virgin olive oil. Don't "gloss over" the specials at Mister C's.

The Veal Chop is a perennial special favorite and the pasta specials are nothing short of delectable. To complete your dining experience, try the fruit tart with your cappuccino for dessert, it's just the right thing to top off a fabulous meal.
